Project Description
Garden Links completed this shaded playset and seesaw installation in Banban, Riyadh, bringing sliding, swinging and shared rocking activities beneath one colourful overhead canopy. The work took one to two days and included a connected multi-activity playset, a separate spring-mounted seesaw and shade coverage above the equipment area.
A green straight slide and a red spiral slide descend from a shared raised platform. Three swings extend along the adjoining frame, while the two-seat seesaw occupies a separate position at ground level.
Red, yellow and blue canopy sections give the installation a distinctive appearance. Beneath them, purple equipment posts, white platform railings and coloured play panels define the main structure. Sand covers the equipment area, with patterned paving around its edges.
Location: Banban, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Project type: Outdoor play area
Completion time: One to two days
Estimated play area: Approximately 40–50 m²
Equipment materials: LLDPE plastic and galvanized steel
Equipment Installed
The completed project includes:
- Three swings: One blue bucket-style seat and two open seats, each suspended independently.
- One straight slide: A green open sliding channel with raised sides and a gently contoured profile.
- One spiral slide: A red turning slide connected to the raised play section.
- One access staircase: A stairway with handrails leading to the platform.
- One raised platform: A common access point for both sliding routes.
- One two-seat spring seesaw: A red beam with yellow seats, handholds and a central spring.
- One overhead shade canopy: A separate supporting structure carrying red, yellow and blue covering sections.
The main playset connects stair access, two sliding routes and three swing positions. The seesaw introduces another activity beside the structure, allowing children to use it without climbing to the platform.
For projects requiring a similar combination, our connected swing and slide playsets provide a starting point for comparing equipment configurations.
Different Activities Within One Covered Area
The green slide follows a direct descent from the platform, while the red spiral slide curves around its support before reaching the exit. Their different shapes give children a choice of sliding routes within the same elevated structure.
The staircase provides access to the platform, where white railings surround the raised section. A green entrance panel frames the straight slide, and a blue moulded panel adds detail beside the platform.
Homeowners and project teams reviewing alternative sliding arrangements can explore our outdoor slide collection.
The swing frame extends along one side of the playset. Its bucket-style seat and two open seats offer different seating formats, with user suitability determined by the supplied model’s age and weight limits. Our outdoor swings collection allows clients to compare seats and frame arrangements for their intended users.
The separate seesaw changes the pace of play. Two yellow seats face each other across the red beam, with handholds positioned in front of each rider. A central spring supports the rocking movement. Clients considering similar shared activities can browse our two-seat and spring seesaw options.
Shaded Playset and Seesaw Installation in Banban: The Layout
The canopy spans the equipment area independently of the playset. Its posts and overhead framework surround the activities, providing broader coverage than a small roof attached to the platform.
This relationship between shade and equipment matters when planning the layout. Canopy supports must be considered alongside swing travel, slide exits, seesaw movement and access to the staircase. Surrounding walls and paving edges also need to remain outside the clearances required for each activity.
The sand-covered section gives the play equipment a defined position within the courtyard. Its suitability as protective surfacing depends on the sand specification, maintained depth, underlying construction and performance for the equipment’s fall height. Appearance alone cannot establish those properties.
The estimated area of 40–50 m² describes the approximate project space. Another installation should be planned using measured dimensions and the selected equipment’s clearance requirements.
Our play equipment safety planning guide explains the connection between equipment spacing, ground fixing, surfacing and inspection.
Materials and Completion in One to Two Days
The specified equipment materials are LLDPE plastic and galvanized steel.
LLDPE is linear low-density polyethylene, used for moulded plastic components such as slide sections and seats. In this project, the green straight slide and red spiral slide demonstrate two different profiles connected to one platform.
Galvanized steel forms the specified supporting framework. Upright posts carry the elevated section, while the swing beam and end support carry the suspended seats. The protective galvanized layer helps limit corrosion, although joints, anchors and damaged finishes still need periodic attention.
The project was completed in one to two days. This duration applies to the Banban installation; other sites may require a different schedule depending on delivery access, ground preparation, equipment selection and associated work.
The canopy’s covering material and performance ratings should be referenced in the project documentation. Its visible colours do not establish a particular level of waterproofing, fire resistance or ultraviolet protection.
Use and Maintenance in Riyadh
The canopy reduces direct sun exposure where its shade falls, but coverage changes during the day. Slides, swing seats and handrails should still be checked for surface temperature before children use them.
Dust removal and surface upkeep are part of routine care. Sand can shift beneath moving equipment and around slide exits, so these areas need attention alongside the condition of the equipment itself.
Inspection should cover swing suspension points, staircase connections, platform railings, slide joints and the seesaw’s spring attachments. The shade structure also requires checks of its posts, connections, covering and fixings.
Cleaning methods and maintenance intervals should follow the relevant manufacturers’ instructions. Outdoor material properties, including any documented ultraviolet protection, should be confirmed through the supplied specifications.
FAQs
Can a playset with swings and slides be installed under a shade canopy?
Yes. A canopy can cover a connected playset and separate equipment such as a seesaw. Its posts and roof framework must allow the clearances required for swing movement, slide exits, elevated activities and access routes.
How much space do you need for a playset, three swings and a seesaw?
The required space depends on the equipment dimensions and manufacturer-specified clearances. Include swing travel, both slide exits, seesaw movement and staircase access. This Banban project has an estimated play area of approximately 40–50 m²; another site needs its own measured layout.
What is the best surface under swings, slides and a seesaw?
Choose impact-absorbing surfacing with documented performance suitable for the equipment’s fall height. The right system depends on the layout, ground conditions and maintenance requirements. Where sand is considered, its grading, depth and ongoing condition must meet the project specification.
Does a shade canopy keep outdoor play equipment cool?
A canopy reduces direct sunlight beneath its shaded sections, but it does not guarantee cool surfaces. Shade moves during the day, and equipment can still become hot. Check slides, seats and handrails before children play.
How much does a shaded playset installation cost in Riyadh?
The quotation depends on the playset model, swing seats, seesaw, canopy dimensions and materials, foundations, surfacing, delivery and installation access. Send Garden Links your site measurements, photographs and intended age groups to receive a quotation covering the required work.
